Thunderstorm warnings and weather concerns delay entry to Gov Ball 2025 until 4:30 p.m., leaving fans waiting for about two hours as officials determined how to proceed safely before confirming a revised schedule. Fans on social media reported arriving hours early to secure barricade spots, hoping to be front row for their favorite artists like Olivia Rodrigo.
A text alert from Gov Ball officials was sent at 11:58 a.m., announcing entry delays until 4:30 p.m., with an update posted on the festival’s social media around the same time. A similar text message was issued yesterday at 6:12 p.m., with at least the Grove Stage displaying a blue-screen advisory noting weather monitoring ahead of rising indie artist Role Model’s set. No schedule changes were made, and performances continued as planned.
One post from TikTok user @alrightchante reads, “POV: you’ve been camped out for Gov Ball since 5 a.m. and they just announced that doors aren’t opening till 4:30,” with the caption saying, “Things are dire.” TikTok posts show fans in ponchos waiting in a crowd to secure spots for Rodrigo and their favorite artists, with Rodrigo songs playing in the background. One video from user @dennismachiato is captioned: “rain, storm cloud, whatever it takes to barricade for Olivia Rodrigo ig.”
Confirming online speculation, Gov Ball officials announced a new schedule via Instagram and a text update at 1:47 p.m., revealing that some acts would be cut to accommodate weather delays. Acts like School of Rock New York, Glasshouse, Die Spitz, Monobloc, The Backfires, Lexa Gates and Yaya Bey have been cut, while others have been rescheduled. Artists like MARINA, Mariah the Scientist, Young Miko, Car Seat Headrest, Conan Gray and Feid had their sets shortened.
No further updates from Gov Ball had been shared at the time of publication, and as of now, performances are set to continue according to the revised schedule posted on Gov Ball's social media, adjusted for safety and weather-related delays.
