At HAZZE MEDIA, we are a startup company that proudly houses some of the most unique, upcoming talent in the creative space to produce projects within fashion, sports, entertainment, lifestyle, & more in marketing, public relations, journalism, content production, & branding.

what does this mean?

We focus on providing opportunities for high-school and college aged individuals (or anyone looking to break into a creative field) to develop their skills to enter into the workforce while working remotely & with the ability to bring their ideas to life.

Our current positions, though unpaid, provides opportunities to grow and develop your portfolio on a professional level and gain the skills needed to thrive professionally in a creative environment with no prior work experience, including receiving college credit for students.

Journalist: Entertainment (music/film), Fashion/Beauty, Society/Culture, & Sports

Position Overview

We are seeking integral, culturally aware, and resilient journalists to contribute to our fast-growing digital and print publication. We are building a bold, Gen Z–led voice in media. We’re looking for writers who want to shape the stories that matter across entertainment, lifestyle, culture, and sports. This is your chance to publish real work, interview talent, and create sharp, relevant narratives that reach a growing digital audience and print readership in entertainment (music/film), fashion/beauty, society/culture, or sports.

Internship Details

  • Type: Unpaid, for college/internship credit only or for experience and publication

  • Schedule: At your own pace; no set hours except for team meetings. Weekend work permitted if the journalist prefers (meaning if you choose to write about breaking news, you may write beyond the minimum writing requirements based on your preference). Journalists are required to write at LEAST 1 article per month.

  • Location: Remote (We are based in the Dallas-Ft Worth Area with opportunities to work in person)

  • Duration: Rolling 

  • Application Materials:

    • Resume

    • Writing samples and/or portfolio (link or PDF; may include school projects or personal work)

Categories When Applying

Applicants must choose up to 2 desired categories below when applying. Writers who choose to cover both must meet the submission expectations for each category (Journalists are expected to write AT LEAST 1 article per month per category):

 

Entertainment Journalist
Topics may include:

  • Pop culture news & analysis

  • Music reviews & artist profiles

  • Film/TV reviews & cultural commentary

  • Interviews with rising creators, musicians, actors, or entertainment voices

  • Op-eds on relevant cultural or identity-based topics

Fashion/Beauty Journalist 

Topics may include:

  • Product, panel, show, or conference reviews

  • Feature articles on trending events, individuals, etc within beauty/fashion

  • Interviews with rising creators, designers, brand leaders or cultural voices

  • Op-eds on relevant cultural or identity-based topics

Culture/Society Journalist 

Topics may include:

  • Gen Z lifestyle and societal commentary

  • Interviews with rising creators, tastemakers, or cultural voices

  • Op-eds on relevant cultural or identity-based topics

Sports Journalist
Topics may include:

  • Passionate about authentic storytelling + interviewing

  • Will write athlete profiles or humanizing stories in sports

  • Game reviews in detail with knowledgable expertise 

  • Op-eds on relevant cultural or identity-based topics

Responsibilities/What You'll Do

  • Write at least 1 article per month - you may write more if you are able to

  • Conduct interviews, research, and fact-checking as needed

  • Must follow AP Style writing, with strong grammar and editorial discipline

  • Be able to write on a deadline or regarding popular/breaking topics with tight turn-around periods

  • Attend editorial meetings to discuss topics and assignments

  • Collaborate with editors to revise and strengthen your drafts

  • Uphold HAZZE MEDIA’s tone, standards, and creative originality

  • Help build the cultural authority of a Gen Z–driven media brand

Qualifications

  • Current junior, senior, or graduate student pursuing Rhetoric, Communications, PR, English, or a related field  (must be eligible or need for internship or college credit)  OR interested in developing professional skills

  • Excellent writing skills and editorial judgment

  • Must be able to write in AP Style

  • Provide at least 1–3 published writing samples or a portfolio (required)

  • Ability to meet deadlines and accept editorial feedback

  • Confidence in sourcing, interviewing, and storytelling

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team
