Despite increased visibility and participation, female Olympic athletes continue to face disparities in recognition, resources, and overall treatment compared to their male counterparts.  Over the past decade, there has been clear progress in access and recognition in events outside the Olympics. Systemic issues such as media bias, policy inequities, and institutional failures persist in modern Olympic sport.
